I am still catching up on blogging from weddings I shot last year so today I am pleased to give you Mike and Alicia’s Kansas City wedding that took place at Our Lady of Sorrows and The Carriage Club.
I luckily inherited this wedding from Becca who used to work with us. Becca was expecting her second little girl and was unable to be there for the wedding so I got the call. I say I luckily inherited this one as I feel so fortunate to have not only documented Mike and Alicia’s wedding but also to have met these two. They are such wonderfully thoughtful people who in my opinion have it all figured out. The connection they share is undeniable to anyone who watches them for only a few minutes. They are both pillars of strength literally and figuratively. Mike is a die hard P-90X fan and the two of them have worked hard at their relationship over the years. Surviving long distances and taking risks to be with each other. It paid off and their wedding was the celebration of it all. I was so happy to be able to meet these two and be asked to be a witness to their day.

Sisters in the elevator on the way to the ceremony.
This was such a great moment. The ring barer having trouble making it down the aisle. He fought through the fear and made it happen.
Dad was waiting at the end of the aisle.
Alicia and her dad making their way down the aisle.
Love Mike’s face watching Alicia.
One stop for a quick portrait.
I loved watching how these two despite being mature professionals still at times act like they are 10 years old.
The kids had a blast on the bus.
Practicing their entrance as husband and wife.
Like I said 10 years old and I love it!
Great moment between the flower girls.
This moment had me laughing out loud. I have no idea what they were doing but it was hilarious. What I loved most about it was it was like they were in their own little world doing what they wanted.
They found it as funny as I did I guess.
Their friends were quite funny as well. As a competition between two tables to get the most attention Mike’s friends pulled a fast one with an impromptu hora dance lifting Mike up in the air as he was on his way to say hi to their table.
The end of the night and his tie is still perfect.
Final dance would not be complete with out the signature drink of the night.
Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your day!
