Wedding Proposal in Kansas City
Love Locks Bridge
Saturday I documented a proposal on Love Locks Bridge. I love documenting proposals!
This has been an exciting trend in photography, and I’m thrilled to have documented so many lately! I love knowing that these guys knew the importance of having this moment in their lives documented. Not only is this an amazing momento for them to have as a couple now, but for many years ahead. I can’t help but picture these two reminiscing over these photos on their 50th wedding anniversary. Documenting the moment that officially starts their life together…that’s pretty special.
The Proposal
Brian and Beth’s proposal was super fun, meaningful, and went off without a hitch.
The plan was a simple one. Brian and Beth would travel up for the day to Kansas City from their home in Springfield, Missouri for an afternoon of shopping. On the way back from shopping, Brian would take Beth to the Love Locks Bridge at Minor Park in Kansas City.
When the new Red Bridge was opened, the Old Red Bridge was re-purposed as the Love Locks Bridge. More than 3,500 locks have been placed on the bridge since opening in February of 2013.
The bridge holds sentimental value to them as it was where Brian and Beth first said they loved each other. One of those 3,500 locks on the Love Locks Bridge is theirs from the day they said ‘I love you’.
Brian knew it was then the perfect place to propose to Beth. With an engagement ring and a new lock engraved with their names and the date they got engaged, this was the perfect plan, indeed.
Even though it was a bit cold on Saturday, everything went according plan…including Beth saying yes. 🙂
Brian and Beth, congratulations on your engagement! Enjoy some of my favorite images from Saturday on the Love Locks Bridge.
