This weekend was full of fun celebrating, despite what the rain had in store for us. We decided last minute to head to my Aunt’s who lives very close to a wonderful fireworks show and join my family for some 4th of July fun. We hoped the rain would hold out since we were keeping the kids up later than they should be. Unfortunately the rain did not hold out, but we think it turned out to be an even better time!
The rain made it a very memorable night soaking everyone and inspiring some new hair-do’s. Our 2 year-old Zach made sure to not stray to far from mom all night. Fireworks can be scary.
My Aunt’s neighbors on both sides were putting on their own “shows” and we got into the action a bit as well. Uncle Mike, Nephew Jake and Niece Ellie light off a few of their own.
Love this shot of older (cooler) cousin Jake hanging out under the umbrella with Alex.
My mom, aka Mimi, helping Zach with his sparkler.
Ellie and a neighbor playing around.
Alex and his classic loving/hating this look, flanked by Mimi, Zach and Jake.
My dad, aka Papa, standing ready to light someone’s sparklers.
Jake enjoying the open land behind the houses.
Pure joy! Your pictures capture what we treasure most. Your boys are beautiful, and I love that their grandparents are called Mimi and Papa…we are too! What memories were made that night!
Wish I could have been there to see this. These are the memories that are so very special, and I’m so glad that you shared them.
Love,
Aunt Lynne
Oh my word. I love all of these images. There is something so magical about these. The smiles on the kids’ faces, the sparklers, and the rain! Both the photos with the kids holding umbrellas are so fantastic. . . I wish these were my memories. : )
