This one was special. It was special for many reasons. For starters the groom was Brandon’s previous assistant for Wirken Films so Brady has seen and heard it all working along side of me. So it was an honor when he and his then finance Allison asked us to travel to Colorado to document their wedding. Having the wedding in Colorado was perhaps the most special part. Not only for me, I LOVE Colorado, but more importantly for Allison. Brady and Allison chose to get married at the base of the foothills in Colorado Springs in order to be as close as possible to Allison’s dad who is buried nearby at the Air force Base. You could really feel his presence that day especially during the ceremony when the clouds parted right before the processional and beautiful light broke through as Allison made her way down the aisle with her brother. It was incredible to witness. To make it even more special I had the privilege to have my dear friend from The Foundation Workshop and Sedona Bride owner and photographer Katrina Wallace be my second shooter. What a treat it is to be able to shoot with one of your great friends. The wedding did not disappoint. Brandon and I were honored to be able to be there to document Brady and Allison’s story.

The photos:
The day started with a trip to Air Force base to visit Allison’s father’s grave. It was very emotional for everyone involved.
Brady hanging with his groomsmen prior the ceremony. Love this photo by Katrina Wallace.
Faith is major part of both Brady and Allison’s lives. Here Brady’s older Brother Greg leads a prayer before heading to the ceremony.
Allison shared a laugh as her sister and mother help her get dressed.
Keeping an eye on the weather at the Broadmore hotel in Colorado Springs.
Allison reading a note from Brady in the back room of the kitchen waiting for the call for the ceremony to begin.
Brady waiting for his bride. I love the look his brother is giving him.
Allison, her mom, and her brother share a simultaneous laugh and a cry as they make their way down the aisle.
Allison’s mom watching the ceremony.
We then went down the hill in search of a clear view of the mountains for some fast portraits.
Playing around with fire at dusk.
Great photo by Karina Wallace of the prayer to start dinner.
Brady’s brother Greg is married to Jewel who used to work for us so it was great to see them again as well as meet their new son for the first time.
Everyone has the crazy uncle that always makes an appearance on the dance floor.
I love it when things go wrong at a wedding. Almost always it sparks an idea that was unplanned and ends up being one of the best things to happen at the wedding. The DJ at the wedding had downloaded the wrong version of the first dance. So instead of waiting for him to find the correct version Allison and Brady elected to save their “first dance” and do it at the end of the night. The result was amazing. Usually first dances are at the beginning of the reception and the couple is by themselves in the middle of the dance floor and they often times lack impact because of that. Brady and Allison’s dance was full of emotion and energy as everyone that was still in attendance surrounded them as they shared a dance together. Very cool moment.
I loved their “first dance” even if they were untucked and sweaty.
Quiet time on the way down the hill to the hotel.
Thanks Brady and Allison for not only inviting us to witness your wedding but for trusting me to tell the story.
Love the Pictures Tyler! Beautiful Wedding, great second shooting company š
