So, I know I have been a really bad blogger as of late. I have been working with a ton of really great couples and have some wonderful stories to share. Those will come down the road but for today I am going to share the wedding day story of Megan and Tyler. I liked Megan and her family from the get go. They are simply sweet, loving people with all of their priorities in the right place. Tyler fits into the mix perfectly. Every time they come to the studio it’s all smiles. That says a lot to me about how they live their lives and treat others. It was a day full of joy yet they had some hurdles that they took in stride with their smiles. They trusted me and were up for anything, including the above portrait in the men’s restroom.
The ceremony was at St. Michael’s and reception at the Lodge of the Ironwoods. It was a great atmosphere provided by event designers and catering ending with the my first ever impromptu rave at a wedding. It was lights out and crazy dancing till the bitter end. Great day all around.

Love this moment.
Faith is very important to Megan’s family. The church they got married in is the same church that Megan’s family has been attending since it started and actually had three officiants at the wedding. All three were at one time the priest of the church and agreed to come back known as the “dream team” to marry Megan and Tyler. Here Megan’s dad gets the car ready in the garage to take the family to the church.

This was funny. Tyler really wanted to wear this top hat. Here he is with his mom while getting ready. Some other people at the wedding thought he should not wear it. So it ended up making surprise appearances throughout the day. Photo by Kate.
Getting ready for the call to begin.
I love this image. Controlled chaos in the brides room. I love being able to make complex images like this where all of the different elements come together to tell a story of what it was like in that room that day minutes before go time.
Hands in for a last minute go time cheer.

This is why I surround myself with great people to help me out. My assistant extraordinaire Kate shot this of the exit. I was out front dealing with an issue and Megan and Tyler came out earlier than expected and I almost missed it. I got home and downloaded the images to find that Kate nailed it. Not only did she nail it but she had all of our gear on her back while doing it. Nice job Kate.
On the bus to the reception.
Great moment here. Toasts were happening right after the entrance so the bridal party did not have anything to drink. Megan’s girls were not deterred and “drank” their bouquets.
Tyler’s brother did a bit of a roast during his toast. I love Tyler’s reaction. I also love the next photo down of Tyler’s mom’s reaction. The apple does not fall far now does it?
The cake cutting.
First dance.
boothBOOTH was pumping out some great moments as well. Guest packed the photo booth all night.

Beautiful work, Tyler. I got tearful at a couple of the images.
