I had the chance to witness the spectacular wedding on Saturday of Liz and Ben in Kansas City. What I loved about it was how comfortable it was. Having the ceremony and reception at the childhood home of Liz certainly made that possible. Then throw in the fact that Liz and Ben are just wonderful people with such great outlooks on life and you have the perfect recipe for a great wedding. Here are two of my favorite images from the day.
Liz grew up in a 200 or so year old house with lots of history. I was immediately drawn to the house as well as the American flag hanging from the front porch. Here is Liz leaving the house and getting into a limo to drive her around the block, so as to not be seen walking across lawn before she walked down the aisle with her dad.
I loved this moment. Liz’s walk down the aisle was a very emotional one. Right after her dad gave her away and she walked to Ben, he lovingly reached up and touched her head. It was quite funny as she then reacted by quickly pulling away, afraid her hair would fall down. Both laughing throughout the entire thing. What makes it great is that later I said something to her about how I loved that moment. She then said, “Me too, he does that all time to me”. I love moments like this. What might not seem like much to others means something to them.
