What a crazy wedding Amy and John had. It was crazy in many ways. Crazy how many people I ended up knowing there, I actually grew up down the street from Amy as a child. Crazy that I almost suffered heavy bodily damage on the side of a cliff getting an image, and crazy how friends of mine that are amazing wedding photographers flew down from New York to shoot with me. This is one wedding I won’t soon forget. Thanks Amy and John for making it possible!
Here are a few of my favorite images from the trip. The wedding took place at the Iberostar Resort in Punta Mita, Mexico.

I don’t normally post portraits as part of Teaser Tuesday but I had to post this one. I feel it is always important when shooting destination weddings to work hard to capture the beauty of the location. I was thrilled to discover this area while on a walk the day of the wedding on the beach. I knew we had to go there for the portrait time following the ceremony. I also knew it was risky as I had no idea what the tide would do and it was a 10 minute walk so time was of the essence. We pushed hard and it was worth it. Not only did I have to break into the backyard of this abandoned house but I also had to scale a brick wall and maneuver myself into position on the edge of cliff to get the right angle. With one hand placed firmly around the only tree strong enough to hold me I was only able to shoot with one hand all the while trying to not slip off the edge. Crazy but it was worth it.
