Love in the Keys.
The Florida Keys that is. We were crazy excited to get the call from Tina to photograph her wedding in Islamorada in the Florida Keys. See Pam and I love the keys and more importantly Key West, so this event was right up our alley. In addition Tina is a family friend of Pam’s. This was quickly turning into a wonderful thing for us. Pam’s sister in law, Kim, was going to be a bridesmaid and her husband (and Pam’s brother) Mark would be there with their new son Joey, mix in some Florida sun and palm trees, and a fast trip to Key West, and you get pure excitement. I photographed Mark and Kim’s wedding in Chicago and Tina was a bridesmaid then, so we really felt at home with these guys.
It was our first time meeting Brent and his family though. What we learned about him and Tina is what a loving and caring couple they are who have equally loving family and friends. Many of whom traveled throughout the state of Florida and from other parts of the country to be witness to their much awaited nuptials.
This was a great group and an equally great destination to have their wedding. Although both now live in Florida, neither live in Islamorada, but when they were making their way down A1A heading through the Keys something about Coconut Cove Resort jumped out at them.
What a fantastic wedding full of all kinds of emotion.
The images.
Islamorada Fish Co. – home to the rehearsal dinner.
Who needs table cards….sea stars work even better.
Tina and her Dad have a wonderful relationship. Here they are getting ready to walk down the aisle for their practice run.
Pam’s sweet nephew enjoying the rehearsal, and the pool at the same time.
I love destination weddings. Friends end up playing multiple roles on the day including hair designer.
And make up artist!
Tina was such a joy to be around and photograph. No shortage of expressions!
True Florida Gators fan.
Tina’s dad sees her for the first time.
One of risks of having a destination wedding. 10 minutes before the ceremony the rains came hard. We had to postpone things for about an hour till they passed. Tina handled it wonderfully.
Here we go….checking the pulse. – wonderful shot by Pam
Finally.
Some fun portraits on the grounds while we still had a little sunlight.
First dance set to wonderful music and some surprise fireworks.
The party continues despite the wind and rain.
Brent and his dad are very close. I love being able to document important relationships as these.
Thanks guys for letting us document this sweet weekend!
